'The Skin of Our Teeth' at SU this weekend

Event

Flag is Up Productions at Schreiner University will present Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning play "The Skin of Our Teeth" on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 20-22, in the Hanszen Fine Arts Theatre on the Kerrville campus.
Performances start at 7:30 pm Friday and Saturday, and 2 pm Sunday. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
Completed by Wilder less than a month after the attack on Pearl Harbor, "The Skin of Our Teeth" broke from established theatrical conventions and walked off with the 1943 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
"It's a wacky tour de force, a story of mankind from the Ice Age and the dinosaur, through to the great flood and finally coming through the 'last great war' by 'the skin of our teeth'," said director Dr. Claudia Sullivan. "Wilder is not overly religious and he doesn't often hit audiences over the head with proverbs, but he is unabashedly American and this play presents that war-time 'pluckiness' that we will come through."
