Planning on traveling out of the country this year, but don’t have a passport? Now is the time to apply.

District 21 United States Congressman Lamar Smith, a senior member of the Texas Congressional Delegation, will host a Passport Workshop for his constituents, from 8 am until 2 pm, Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Encino Park Station, 20403, Encino Ledge, Encino Park.

The workshop will inform constituents about new passport requirements. Smith will be joined by representatives from the United States Postal Service who will answer questions and assist with passport applications.

Passport fees are $67 for adults and $52 for children under 16. Passport photos are available onsite for $15. Applicants who do not purchase photos at the workshop must bring two two-inch by two-inch photos with them to the workshop.

Applicants must also bring two forms of identification, including a driver’s license or state identification card and a certified birth certificate, which includes an official seal, or a naturalization certificate for naturalized citizens.
