Bandera County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Lynn D. Holt was recently inducted into the 2015 College of Justice Court Judges.
Holt was awarded "Scholar Member" status for obtaining more than 60 hours of judicial education above the state-mandated requirements. The college encourages and recognizes judges who strive for advanced education.
Holt is one of 48 justice court judges throughout the state to complete the requirements to qualify for the college. Additionally, he is one of only 11 judges across the State of Texas who achieved "Scholar Member" status. This is the ninth consecutive year that Holt has been recognized by the college for his achievements in advanced judicial education.
"I am honored by this award." Holt said. "The advanced education I have received certainly helps me not only maintain an independent judiciary, but also to deliver fair and impartial justice for the people who appear in my court."
Holt has served as Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace for over 11 years. His court deals with both criminal and civil cases. Holt's duties also include death inquests, magistration duties at the jail and issuing arrest and search warrants.
