Discover the Magic of Reading

Lakehills Library

Spooky books crafts
We will be having a Spooky Books Crafting Class on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 11 am. This class is for adults, or teens 13 and over that are accompanied by an adult. Crafters are going to be making use of old books by turning them into Halloween decorations. All materials will be provided and the class size is limited so please call today to reserve your spot.
Art gala
The library is hosting an Art Gala featuring an early look at some of the artist's works that will be on display, appetizers and wine, on Saturday Oct. 10 at 7 pm for all of the donors that have helped get the art program started. The library will be displaying a wide array of art from local artists with the display changing monthly. If you would like to contribute to the Art in the Library funding and be invited to the gala, please contact Barbara Hover at the library.
Track or Treat
Lakehills Library annual Track or Treat will be on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5:30-7 pm. If you are interested in donating candy, volunteering to hand out candy or sponsoring a booth with your family or business, we would love to have you join us! Last year we had over 100 trick or treaters and we are expecting more this year. Costumes, candy and family fun are on the schedule here at the library for Halloween.
Resumé updates
Is your resumé a little rusty? Need some help figuring out how to make a great looking resumé for a job application? The library is having a Resumé Builder workshop on Monday, Oct. 12, from 10-noon. This is a free program to help you make your resumé stand out from the rest of the pack. Class size is limited so please call and register today.
Children's story time is every Wednesday at 10:30 am. We read, play games, sing songs, paint, color or make crafts every week with kids ages 2 to 10. There is an emphasis on early literacy and creativity. All kids are welcome and it's free, so please join us for a fun and educational time for the kids and a chance to meet other area parents.
