Help needed by Helping Hand

By Judith Pannebaker BCC Editor

Jesse Parks, executive director of the Helping Hand, has put out a clarion call for food donations.
"We're heading into the holiday season and for the first time, our cupboards are literally bare," she said in a recent interview. "We're practically down to our last cans of vegetables and soup." Parks is calling upon the community to help alleviate the food crisis. Historically, the crisis center has assisted people who are in dire need.
According to Parks, Helping Hand will take canned and boxed items, frozen food items and meat and poultry that can be frozen. "Anything anyone can give us will help," she said.
Helping Hand is located at 1116 12th Street in Bandera. Telephone is 830-796-8300. All donations are tax deductible.
