Schreiner concert to feature 'West Side Story'

The Schreiner University Concert Band will present a free public performance at 7 pm, Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the ballroom of the Floyd and Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center.
The program will include music from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim; Credo by William Owens; Bonds of Unity march by Karl King; John Williams: Movie Adventures; and More Cowbell!, arranged by Michael Brown.
The band is directed by Michael Kasberg, who also leads the jazz band and is an adjunct instructor of music. For information on the concert, email him at mdkasberg@schreiner.edu.
Schreiner offers both a major and a minor in music, and many students in other majors participate in the schools music ensembles for credit. In addition to the two bands, there are two choirs, a string chamber ensemble, a string quartet and the Symphony of the Hills.
