The Ranchers and Landowners Association of Texas will host its first Hill Country Legislative Forum. Featured speakers will be Lamar Smith, US congressman representing the 21st District in Washington DC, and Andrew Murr, District 53 representative to the state legislature in Austin.
The event will be held this Saturday, July 18, at the Silver Sage Community Center, 803 Buck Creek Boulevard, Bandera. The doors open at 8:45 am and the program starts at 9:30 am.
Since the two speakers represent surrounding counties as well, all hill country residents and elected officials are invited to attend. County Judge Richard Evans will introduce both speakers.
Congressman Smith will update everyone on national issues of free trade, immigration, EPA and other topics. Murr will review some of the important bills out of the recent legislative session in Austin.
"The public is urged to attend, as we are all stakeholders in our government," said Fidel Ramirez, RLAT president. "This is a good opportunity to meet your government representatives one on one, share information with them, and listen to their message."
For more information, contact Ramirez at 830-796-4376 or Evelyn Snyder at 830-796-3133.
