Check out our state parks

Contributed

Bandera County is blessed to have two state parks, Hill Country State Natural Area and Lost Maples State Park.
If getting away from the crowds and enjoying nature close up is for you, plan on spending some time at one or both soon.
Both parks offer excellent opportunities for bird watching, hiking and camping. HCSNA is one of the most scenic equine use parks in the state, so bring your horse. Lost Maples is known for the beauty of its colors in the fall, but those who visit during the rest of the year are never disappointed. The park is located at the west end of Bandera County, at 37221 FM 187, Vanderpool. Call 830-966-3413 for more information and check out their website for special events.
Hiking, horseback riding, mountain bike riding and miles and miles of miles and miles make a visit to Hill Country SNA a delight. It's located at 10600 Bandera Creek Road, south of Bandera. Call 830-796-4413 for more information, or visit their website.
