Bandera ISD announces changes

Three Bandera ISD administrators will be making some moves for the 2015-16 school year, Superintendent Regina Howell announced this week. Tish Grill, Scott Tipton and Chip Jackson will be accepting new positions.
After serving as business manager for Bandera ISD since 2000, Tish Grill will take on a new assignment with Boerne ISD in June as Assistant Superintendent for Business and Finance. Grill said it will be difficult to leave Bandera, since she has come to recognize the district as a "very exceptional place" over the course of her tenure in the business office.
Grill said she was proud to have been able to work in the district where financial stability has been a standard. "Bandera will always remain close to my heart, but I look forward to the chance for professional growth that my new position with Boerne ISD will provide," she said.
Howell has announced that Tipton, Alkek Elementary principal, will assume the role as business manager beginning immediately. "Mr. Tipton's background in math and technology is a perfect fit for our needs as a business manager. Those skills will be critical to his success as he steps into the role of the district's chief financial officer," said Howell. Tipton has been with Bandera ISD since 2004.
Alkek Assistant Principal Jackson will be stepping into the role of principal at the school on July 1. Jackson has been assistant principal at Alkek since 2009. He came to Bandera ISD as a Middle School science teacher and coach in 2003. He is a graduate of Tarleton State University. "Mr. Jackson has received overwhelming support from the Alkek staff who are excited to see him take over the role of principal," said BISD Director of Personnel and Student Services Gary Bitzkie.
BISD is currently interviewing candidates for Assistant Principal at Alkek Elementary. That position will begin on August 1, 2015.
