Finding Nemo was the theme of this colorful entry at a previous Riverfest.

Boy o' boy! The recent rains have made the Medina River perfect for the upcoming 18th Annual Bandera Riverfest and especially for the zany, crazy RIVER REGATTA! Sponsored again this year by River City Hospice, this great event is scheduled for 3 pm on Saturday, June 27, in City Park.
It is not too late to enter, as a matter of fact, you can just show up with your entry. There is no fee to enter and the categories of prizes: Best Western, Best Business, Best Nonprofit, Best Community Event, and the Admirals Award for Best Over All Entry.
It's easy to enter. First you get something that floats. It could be a canoe, a boat, a raft, an inner tube, a blow up float, stryo/packing material......well, you get the picture. Decorate it up and be at the park by 2 pm on Saturday June 27 at the 8th Street entrance (by the Boys and Girls Club).
When you enter a float, you get a free admission to the event! The folks at the gate will show you where to go to launch your entry. The parade will begin down river at about 2:45 pm and leading the parade will be Buddy and Karon Byrd with Buddy's Water Well and Septic Service. Buddy is the Admiral of the Fleet and leads the parade each year.
Riverfest is the ultimate riverside picnic! Join us for the Open Car Show, Riverside games, River Rodeo, Kayak Races, Watermelon and Hot Dog eating contests, Bandera Idol, lots of food, drink and music and a Lone Star BBQ Society BBQ Cook-off! Wear your water shoes and swim suit and get wet!
The Bandera Riverfest is organized by the Bandera Business Association and funds raised at Riverfest help to support the Cowboys on Main, Shoppers Jubilee and the Cowboy Christmas and Christmas lights on the court house lawn, Heritage Plaza and the drive through Christmas lights in City Park.
