Boy Scouts conducting flag ceremony Sunday

Boy Scout Troop 146 will conduct a Flag Retirement Ceremony at 2 pm on Sunday, June 14, Flag Day. The ceremony will be held at the Bandera American Legion Post 157 at 204 12th Street. Every one is invited to attend. Unserviceable flags turned in or exchanged at the Post will be officially inspected to verify their condition. Once determined to be no longer up to standards, they are then given final honors and destroyed by fire.
Larry Crocker, the Troop 146 Scoutmaster said, "The U.S. Flag Code is our guide for the treating the flag with respect and dignity. This includes its retirement or dignified destruction. This ceremony is one of our most important. We are honored to perform it."
Everyone is invited to attend in honor of Flag Day 2015.
If you have yet to drop off your worn and weary United States flags, there is still time. The Legion is open weekdays from 9 am to 3 pm with extended hours on Wednesday until 9 pm due to Bingo.
