RNC hosting geology event


Riverside Nature Center, 150 Francisco Lemos Street in Kerrville, will sponsor Rockin' Downtown on Saturday, June 13, from 9 to 11:30 am.
The stroll will take a closer look at what buildings are made of in the 300-200 blocks of Earl Garrett with geologist Susan Longacre, and RNC naturalist Susan Sander. Learn some geology and cultural history along with learning some tree identification.
This hike should be fun for the family, from third grade and-up.
Rockin' Downtown starts at east side of Court House.
Pre-register by June 11 by calling RNC 830-257-4837 or email naturalist@riversidenaturecenter.org.
The fee for RNC members (family) $8 and $10 for non-member families.
June 13 is also the center's 2nd Saturday Clean-Up from 8:30 am until noon. Volunteers are reminded to bring gloves, rakes, trowels, and other gardening tools.
In addition, the opening ceremony in Louise Hays Park for the park and the extension of the River Trail will begin at 8 am, with special activities planned from 9 am to 1 pm.
