Bandera Honors Veterans fundraiser coming

By Susan Junker BCC Contributor

The annual Bandera Honors Veterans fundraiser begins at noon on Saturday, May 16, at the 11th Street Cowboy Bar.
Auction items are stacking up in preparation for this "always lively" event that funds Bandera's annual Veterans Day Program, Parade and Barbecue - as well as providing ongoing support to veterans throughout the year.
To date, the generous community and American Legion Post 157 members have donated at least three new rifles, a pistol and a big screen TV, as well as loads of gift certificates and merchandise - and the list keeps growing. Additionally patriotic merchandise will be sold at the event and assistance for veterans on hand.
The celebration includes food, music a 50-50 raffle, dancing and live and silent auctions. More information will be available in the Bandera County Courier, on radio, Facebook, websites and flyers.
"We look forward to seeing you at one of the biggest Post 157 events of the year!" said an event spokesman.
For more information, call Marshall Considine, event chairman, at 830-796-7528.
