Time to register for BGD Summer Day Camp

By Carolyn B. Edwards BCC Staff Writer

Boys & Girls Clubs of Bandera County will hold their popular Summer Day Camp from June 15 through August 14. Registration is currently underway. The cost is $50 before May 4 and $60 after that date. This year there will be no additional field trip fees. Scholarships are available to help defray costs.
Registration forms are available at Hill Country Elementary, Alkek Elementary, Bandera Middle School and 715 Maple in Bandera.
All camps will focus on the clubs' three priority outcomes: healthy lifestyles, academic success, and good character and citizenship.
Camps will be held at Bandera Middle School for ages six through those going into fifth grade. Hill Country Elementary will enroll the same ages. The Teen Center on Maple Street will include those going into sixth grade through 18-years-old.
Camps run from 7 am to 6 pm, with breakfast and lunch served seven of the nine weeks.
Activities include at least five field trips for all locations, a career program to introduce youth to careers and college prep, a course in good decision making, preparing to become a man in today's society, programs in reading, math and writing, and sports camps and leagues.
Middle and High School members will participate in Riverfest by building a float and raising funds.
