Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Michael "Mike" Towers successfully completed the three stage, 80-hour Justice of the Peace seminars held in December, January and March.
The seminars were sponsored by the Texas Justice Court Training Center, a division of Texas State University. With a grant from the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, TJCTC develops curriculum for all JP court clerks, constables, and peace justices in Texas, and trains them in JP court operations.
A retired Texas peace officer, Towers also holds a Texas Master Peace Officer Certificate and is a Certified Special Investigator in Sexual Assault-Family Violence. He has also successfully completed extensive death investigation training conducted by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office, and homicide and suicide training conducted by the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG).
