CBS correspondent Lara Logan will speak at the 12th annual Women2Women fundraiser. Sponsored by Hill Country CARES, the event is set for April 16 in Kerrville.

Planning is underway for the 12th annual Women2Women fundraising event sponsored by Hill Country CARES. The event will be from 6 pm to 9 pm Thursday, April 16, at the Cailloux Campus Activity Center at Schreiner University in Kerrville.
A nonprofit organization, Hill Country CARES serves the needs of women and children who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse. The organization provides an emergency shelter for women and children, counseling, legal aid, advocacy, education and prevention in schools and forensic interviewing of child abuse cases.
The service area includes Kerr, Kendall, Gillespie, Bandera and Kimble counties.
"Support as a sponsor allows Hill Country CARES to continue to provide these most vital services at no charge," said an organization spokeswoman. "It also enables the agency to meet the match requirements of government and private grants, which fund the bulk of our operation. Every dollar counts."
"The Great Gatsby" sponsorship package offers various levels of sponsorship. Participation at any level will enable Hill Country CARES to increase community awareness of its services while contributing to the fight for the health and safety of the most vulnerable in the community.
Individual tickets are available for $125.
This year's guest speaker is Lara Logan, chief foreign affairs correspondent for CBS, as well as a 60 Minutes correspondent.
