Women's shelter hosts 5K/10K

Coming Event

The Kendall County Women's Shelter will host the 5th Annual Heal the Soul 5K/10K Trail Run and 1.4 Mile Walk. Heal the Soul is produced this year in conjunction with Redemption Race Productions and will be held Saturday, May 2, at 8 am at Joshua Springs Park and Preserve in Comfort. This is the first time in the event's history that the race will be timed and will feature a 10K run.
All proceeds benefit the Kendall County Women's Shelter and will help provide emergency shelter and supportive services to survivors of domestic violence, their children, and their pets.
Early registration will continue until April 10. Runners may register until the day of the race.
The event will feature snacks, entertainment, a paved walking path with stroller and wheelchair access, and pastoral Hill Country views. Leashed pets are welcome!
Challenge yourself on the timed 5K or 10K course with no repeating runs or take a family-friendly walk on the paved 1.4 mile course. Visit http://www.kcwstexas.org/heal-the-soul.html for more information and to register.
The Kendall County Women's Shelter seeks to provide safe, emergency shelter in a supportive environment where Texas Hill Country victims of domestic violence and their children can begin the healing process and receive the support services they need to build new lives. In 2014, KCWS served 94 women, 73 children and 23 pets, providing 4,694 bed nights.
