St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Bandera will host a Country Gospel and Cowboy Eucharist service on Sunday, March 29. The church is located on Highway 173 North across from the cemetery. The service begins at 10:30 am.
A potluck lunch and a sing-along will follow in the Parish Hall.
The parish has a special gospel-themed service on months with a fifth Sunday, said Fr. Allan Conkling, pastor.
"Since this event will be on Palm Sunday the music will include traditional favorites like 'All Glory, Laud and Honor,' Bluegrass classics 'Scarlet Purple Robe' and 'Power in the Blood', and gospel favorites like 'Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross' and 'How Great Thou Art,'" said Conkling.
The pastor, Judge Tom Lee and wife Carol Lee, and pianist Joe Park are all part of the band, playing guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass and piano.
"Dress for church is country casual. We hope to see you!" said Conkling.
