BPA sending 10 to state meet

The Bandera High School Business Professionals Association Chapter will have 10 members participating in the State Competition March 4 - 9. Student members compete in business and technology skills with other students across the region.
The 10 state-bound competitors are Allie Denham, Brendan Keane, Caleb Evans, Emma DeGoes, Mercy Yermo, Baileigh Toenes, Luke DeGoes, Andrew Zimmel, Brady Keane and Dylan DeGoes. The chapter also had three individuals/groups named as alternates to the state competition.
Denham placed first in Advanced Spreadsheet Applications which was a great follow up to placing sixth in the National Conference last year in Indianapolis.
Brendan Keane placed first in Fundamentals of Web Design, securing his return trip to State Competition. Last year Brendan placed eighth in the nation in this category.
Brady Keane earned a first in Advanced Word Processing Skills.
Evans placed second in JAVA Programming.
Emma DeGoes placed second in Fundamental Desktop Publishing and Yermo finished third in Fundamental Word Processing Skills.
Toenes ranked second in Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications, and Luke DeGoes placed second in Fundamentals of Web Design.
Another second place win was posted by Zimmel, competing in Extemporaneous Speech.
Dylan DeGoes placed fourth in Fundamental Word Processing Skills.
The Broadcast News Production Team of Zimmel, Brady Keane and Elijah MacNeil was awarded first state alternate for their work. Ben Lopez earned a ranking of first state alternate in Fundamental Desktop Publishing, and Royce Barnes was named second state alternate in Extemporaneous Speech.
