Luther to speak at DRT

Contributed

The Joshua D. Brown Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will welcome Dr. Joseph Luther as the guest speaker at the Jan. 26 meeting. Dr. Luther is a sixth generation Texan, Kerrville native and author, a former university professor, and a Tivy High School graduate. His subject will be "Fort Martin Scott in Fredericksburg, Texas." This frontier fort was very important during its existence, and the program promises to be fascinating.
Any woman who is a lineal descendant of a person who was a loyal citizen of the Republic of Texas, prior to Feb. 19, 1846, and over the age of 16 may apply for membership to the organization, and the chapter welcomes guests who are interested in Texas History. The meeting will be at Trinity Baptist Church at 10 am on Monday, Jan. 26.
