Bad weather planing for CG Round-Up & Showdeo

Special to the Courier

Old Man Winter is producing bad weather that's expected to stay until around 9 am - or later - on Thursday, Jan. 1. Plans for the 2015 Cowgirl Round-Up & Showdeo have been adjusted accordingly.
At "high noon" on New Year's Day, everyone will gather in the arena at the Hill Country State Natural Area for the traditional cowgirl panoramic photo. This is for everyone - even those who don't or can't haul their horses! Participants are urged to "bundle up and cowgirl up" with hats and boots for a unique picture of "The Year of the Frosty Weather!"
Then, everyone will pile into the blue lodge for a complimentary bowl of black-eyed peas and cornbread for good luck. A vegetable tray with dips and hot and cold beverages will also be available - along with anything that participants bring to share.
For entertainment, promoters have put Cowgirl Round-Up photos and videos from 2009 to 2014, which will be shown on a screen in the lodge.
Additionally, donations for friends' group HC-SNAP will be accepted but not expected.
Participants are asked to "honk at park headquarters and come on down to the lodge between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm, Thursday Jan 1" to enjoy the 2015 version of the Cowgirl Round-Up & Showdeo.
