Bandera High School hosted its annual College Fair on Wednesday, Nov. 5. Forty-five colleges, vocational schools and military recruiters attended the fair. Bandera High School juniors and seniors were able to visit with college recruiters and pick up information about the various programs offered.
The Senior class participated in the "Banking on Our Future" Scholarship program sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank, Hondo National Bank, Bandera Bank and the TexHillCo Credit Union.
Scholarships ranged from $100 to $250. Scholarship winners included Beau Gibson for $100, Turner Warren for $150, Laurynn Winters for $200, Dana Zavorka for $250 and Levi Van Dyne for $250.
The BHS Counselors followed up the College Fair with an informational session for parents and students that evening in the BHS Library. This free one hour crash course for parents described the various methods used to finance college costs and how to access all the resources available to make college more affordable.
