Flying L tourney benefits Helping a Hero


The Flying L Guest Ranch will host a golf tournament to benefit the Helping a Hero Foundation on Sunday, Nov. 23.
Registration, brunch and a silent auction begin at 10 am with the tourney's Shotgun Start kicking off at noon. Teams are $500 or $125 for individuals. Swag bags will be given to tournament participants.
A Cowboy Thanksgiving Dinner with a meet and greet will take place at 6 pm after the tournament and entertainment begins at 7:30 pm.
Those who would like to donate an item for the silent auction are asked to contact Gloria "DeeDee" Dorrough at 210-774-9292 or deedeedorroughaol.com. Donations of favorite Thanksgiving feast dishes would also be appreciated.

Helpingahero.org has constructed 100 homes in 22 states for wounded veterans. Home recipients have been injured in combat leaving them with multiple amputations, severe burns, traumatic brain injuries and complete blindness, among other injuries. Additionally, some returning warriors need 24 hour care. Helping a Hero Foundation is currently building four homes in the San Antonio area, including one in Bandera County.
