Public meeting in Hondo on new EPA rules

A public meeting on the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) New Interpretive Rules (IR) effective as of April 3, 2014 and the Clean Water Act (CWA), will be held at 7 pm, Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Hondo Hermann Sons Lodge #236, 255 Highway 173 North, in Hondo.
This meeting is important for all ranchers, agricultural producers, elected officials, landowners and developers.
Speaker will be Jay Bragg, associate director of the Commodity and Regulatory Activities of the Texas State Farm Bureau. He serves as a liaison between farmers and ranchers and state and federal agencies. His work with the Farm Bureau includes assessing possible impacts on proposed rules and regulations.
These new rules infringe on property rights, and impose costly permitting and delay on ordinary agricultural practices and production. It is important to find out what these new rules are; how they impact lives and property; and what can be done to get these new rules withdrawn.
This event sponsored by the Medina County Environmental Action Association, Inc. and the Medina County Farm Bureau.
