Library book sale Saturday

By Mary Conley Sec'y, FOL

It's Fall. The leaves are changing, temperatures dropping and Halloween is on the horizon. Celebrating the new season, the Friends of the Library are planning a "scary good" first Saturday book sale this month.
Treats include discounted westerns, marked down to three for only $1. You will also find a new selection of books for young readers. But the most remarkable addition to our offerings is a large donation of books about the Mid-East. Books range from descriptions of life in Afghanistan, Iran and others to the perils of reporting in this volatile area of the world.
This exciting book sale is Saturday, Oct. 4 from 9 am to 1 pm. Come visit your old friends at the library and make some new ones. We guarantee you'll find a treat.
Another treat is in store for you next weekend. On Friday and Saturday, Oct. 10 - 11, from 8 am to 4 pm, Sands of Time Antiques is conducting its annual sale, featuring a wonderful collection of furniture, stained glass, and more. A portion of all sales will be donated to the Friends of the Library. The sale takes place at 158 Starburst in Bandera River Ranch.
Lots of treats for you, no tricks. The Friends appreciate your support and, as always, we thank you for reading.
