Hill Country CASA is pleased to announce that, after a statewide search, the Board of Directors has named Stephanie Cash as the organization's new Executive Director. Cash will begin her duties following the Sept. 30 retirement of long time ED, Diane Oehler.
Cash has been involved with Hill Country CASA since moving to Kerrville in 2011. She first served as a volunteer and more recently has worked on staff. Cash holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Texas A&M University and comes to the executive director position with experience in the court system and with nonprofit management.
Hill Country CASA is an organization of community volunteers who work with local courts to serve children taken into CPS custody in Kerr, Bandera, Gillespie and Kendall counties. The program has been operating as a community supported nonprofit organization since 1989 and volunteers who participate in this CASA program contribute thousands of hours each year to the service of area children. In early September, Hill Country CASA was honored by National CASA for showing excellence in meeting all the national compliance standards necessary for full membership in good standing.
The Board of Directors of Hill Country CASA will host an Open House on Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 4 to 6 pm in Hill Country CASA's new office at 305 Earl Garrett in Kerrville. This event will honor Oehler's 19-year tenure as executive director of the local CASA program and will welcome Cash.
It will also showcase Hill Country CASA's new office which was made possible by a generous grant from the Hal and Charlie Peterson Foundation. The public is invited to join Hill Country CASA for a tour of the new CASA office and a visit with CASA staff and Board.
