During the next nature walk at the Hill Country State Natural Area Hill Country, Ranger Leanne Beauxbeannes will discuss "Trees, Shrubs and Agaves."
This interpretive jaunt will take place from 9 am until 11 am, Thursday, Sept. 18. and Saturday, Sept. 27.
"We will focus on the trees, shrubs and agaves growing in the limestone hills. Here's a chance to admire and learn to identify Hill County trees, shrubs and agaves. There will be beautiful vistas, too!" Beauxbeannes said.
The one-mile, round-trip walk includes a rest stop and moderate climb. Participants are urged to bring water, camera, books and notepads. Comfortable hiking clothes and boots or shoes are recommended.
Participants should meet at park headquarters early for registration.
Regular entry fees apply. Day use is $6 and a Bluebonnet Pass is $3. Those eligible for senior discounts are asked to bring proper identification.
