BCRAGD sets public hearings

By Carolyn B. Edwards BCC Staff Writer

The Bandera County River Authority and Groundwater District has set public hearings for Friday, August 22, at 9 am at the district's offices at 440 FM 3240.
The hearings will allow the public to be heard on 1. The district's proposed budget for the 2014-15 fiscal year, and 2. The district's proposed tax rate to fund the budget.
According to General Manager David Mauk, the proposed budget is right in line with this year's budget as it has been amended throughout the course of the year.
The proposed tax rate of .029839 is a slight increase over last year. It may increase most taxpayer's payment by about $2.67 a year per household, Mauk said.
The hearings will probably be followed by a called meeting of the board of directors to consider adoption of the proposed budget and tax rate.
As with all BCRAGD board meetings, the public is welcome to attend. Contactthe district if you want to see a copy of the proposed budget or with questions about any line item.
