New family in Bandera City Park

A pair of Egyptian geese that currently reside in Bandera City Park recently expanded their family to include a quartet of goslings. Interestingly, the Egyptian goose is, in fact, a shelduck, which is a cross between a goose and a duck. A shelduck has many duck-like characteristics coupled with some external goose-like traits - like hissing, advancing and not wanting their babies disturbed! Since Egyptian geese adore being in and near the water, this family's "home away from home" on and around the Medina River should ensure they'll stick around the Cowboy Capital for a while. Remember: you can feed ducks, geese and shelducks in City Park, but don't chase them!
