Bandera County's top graduates

Austen Hornung was named valedictorian for the Bandera High School Class of 2014. Hornung will be attending Texas A&M University in College Station in the fall, majoring in biology.
He was the editor of the Bulldog Times his senior year. He participated in UIL Academic Competition in ready writing, feature writing and editorial writing. This year he advanced to state competition as an alternate in ready writing.
Hornung served as parliamentarian of the National Honor Society and both vice president and president of the theater production class. He was voted president of his class during his junior year. He is the son of Jennifer and Allen Hornung of Bandera.
Macie Malone was named salutatorian for the Bandera High School Class of 2014. She will be attending Texas A&M University in College Station where she plans to major in finance and business.
Malone was a member of the National Honor Society and Business Professionals of America. She advanced to national competition in BPA and placed third.
Malone played softball and was active in many school events. She is the daughter of Kim and Ernest Malone of Lakehills.
Dylan Colby Campbell, valedictorian of the Medina High School Class of 2014, has been an active member of the National Honor Society (NHS), Student Council, Family Community & Career Leaders of America (FCCLA), Future Farmers of America (FFA), and Business Professionals of America (BPA).
This year he competed at state level in BPA, FCCLA, FFA and UIL-Academics in accounting. Campbell will be attending the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in political Science. He aspires to become a foreign diplomat. He is the son of Carrie Campbell and the late Randy Mac Campbell.
Hannah Deane Buettner earned the rank of salutatorian of the Medina High School Class of 2014.
Buettner was a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), Student Council, Business Professionals of America (BPA) and was a four-year letterman in volleyball and basketball. This spring Buettner advanced to regional competition in UIL- Academics in accounting.
She will be attending Sul Ross University at Alpine. She will be majoring in political science, aspiring to become an economic analyst. Buettner is the daughter of Dina and Karl Buettner.
Elizabeth Rae Espey was named valedictorian of the Utopia High School Class of 2014. She will be attending Texas A&M at Galveston with a major in marine biology.
During high school she was a four-time regional qualifier in literary criticism for UIL Academics and worked on the award winning FFA tractor restoration project her senior year. Espey's parents are Patti Pearce and GE Espey.
Kevianna Aguirre Wisnieski was ranked salutatorian of the Utopia High School Class of 2014. She will be attending either The University of the Incarnate Word or Southwest Texas Junior College.
She is planning on a career in a business field. During high school, Wisnieski was a staff writer and later a photo editor for the school newspaper, Utopia Times. Her parents are Kevin and Annette Wisnieski.
