This wreck occurred at approximately 6:30 pm, Wednesday, May 7, on Highway 16 South. An unidentified motorist was driving north on Highway 16 toward Bandera. The motorist inexplicably lost control of his vehicle, crossed over several lanes of traffic and smashed through a pipe fence before crashing into a pickup truck that had been parked on the side of the highway. The truck had been for sale and, in fact, its price had only been recently reduced. No other information was available on this crash. Other recent vehicular accidents have occurred recently on Park Road 37, at the intersection of FM 3240 and 2828, on Bumpgate Road, a head-on collision on Highway 173 that resulted in two fatalities and a collision on Highway 16 South on Monday, May 19. Additionally, two vehicle fires were recently investigated, one in the parking lot of Bandera High School that occurred approximately two weeks ago and a second at the Barrel House on Highway 16 South that happened Saturday, May 10.
