Front brings rainfall

A cold front smashing into plenty of Gulf moisture brought welcome rainfall to Bandera County Monday night.
Reports from CoCoRaHS volunteers' gauges ranged from .65 inches in the southwest corner of the county near Utopia, to 3.57 inches near the intersection of 2828 and Highway 173 North.
Gauges in the Bandera area collected an inch to 2.44 inches and dry ponds finally caught some runoff that might give local wildlife something to drink through the summer.
Although the rain was very welcome, the county remains in the throes of severe drought, so continue to make every effort to conserve water.
