UIL announces athletics realignments

The University Interscholastic League realignment of high school athletics occurs once every two years and assigns the district in which each high school sport competes. The UIL organization has reclassified Bandera as a 4A high school as a result of the new alignment for 2014-2016.
The realignment places Bandera High School in Region 4, District 14 for football competing against Boerne HS, Canyon Lake HS, Fredericksburg HS, Liberty Hill HS and Taylor HS.
The 2014 Football schedule will be rounded out with games from several local teams (Carrizo Springs, Hondo, SA Sam Houston, Ingram, SA Christian, Comfort and Lytle) in scrimmages and non-district play.
Realignment for basketball, volleyball, team tennis, cross country, spring meet (academics, one act play, individual tennis, track and field), softball and baseball places Bandera in Region 4 District 29 playing Boerne HS, Devine HS, Fredericksburg HS, Hondo HS and Lytle HS.
The soccer realignment places Bandera in Region 4 District 28 competing against Boerne HS, Canyon Lake HS, Fredericksburg HS and Wimberley HS.
The Middle School football schedule is set by agreement to limit traveling distance. Bandera Middle School will play Lytle MS, Hondo MS, Llano MS, Navarro MS, SA Christian MS, Comfort MS and Wimberley MS.
