Bandera UIL OAP district champs repeat

Bandera's UIL One-Act Play company traveled to Canyon Lake High School for the 27AAA District competition this past Friday. The two-day event concluded on Friday night, following six hours of performances, with Bandera sweeping individual acting awards and scoring a first place ballot by all three judges.
Bulldogs receiving individual awards include Best Actress Michaela Turner, Best Actor Dillon McCoy, All-Star Cast Cheyenne Hauck, All-Star Cast Will Fitzpatrick, All-Star Cast Honorable Mention Corey Jennings and All-Star Tech Rhett Miller.
The District Champs Ensemble includes Cori Hecke, Shelbie Marier, Chris Wise, Stephanie Lister, Royce Barnes, Audrey Inman, Laycee Gibson, Brett Dusek, Austen Hornung, Maddi Wood, Ryeth Rasmussen,Destry Tosh, Jessica Baker, Ashley Collett, Elizabeth Collett, Miranda Montemayor and Josh Tarr.
The contest play presents scenes from "The Voice of the Prairie," by John Olive and is directed by Emily Huber. This is Huber's second year at Bandera and second consecutive District win. Last year, Huber and many of the same cast and crew journeyed all the way to the State UIL OAP competition in Austin, after winning the District, Area and Regional competitions.
The Bulldogs will compete for an Area championship on April 12, at Madison High School in San Antonio. The public is welcome and encouraged to come and support this talented group of thespians.
