Edwards acquifer project takes aim
The Edwards Aquifer Water Supply Enhancement Project is a program administered by the Bandera County Soil & Water Conservation District. State funds are used to control brush in Bandera County with the intent of increasing water available for groundwater recharge.
The target species is Blueberry (Ashe) Juniper, commonly called cedar, since it is known to be a voracious user of water.
Work is primarily in the selected Upper Medina River and Sabinal Mill Creek sub-watershed.
After applying for work to be done, a site investigation will be made to determine eligibility and density for cost share. For details on this program or to apply, contact Lynn Post or Billy Griffin at 830-796-3334, or email Post at firstname.lastname@example.org.
