Drought assistance topic LakePlex

The Medina Lake Preservation Society (MLPS) has invited officials from the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) to speak with LakePlex citizens about drought assistance availability for Medina Lake area communities and for individual well owners.
Any small subdivision, community well or individual well owner who may need financial and-or technical assistance with their water well should attend the meeting being held on Wednesday, March 19, at 6 pm at the Mico Volunteer Fire Department main station, 7121 CR 271 in Mico.
"If you have had or are having problems with your water well, or your water well is no longer functioning, if you are 'borrowing' water from a neighbor or are having water trucked in, this meeting with provide valuable information on assistance programs available to meet your water/water well needs," said a MLPS spokesman.
Stacy L. Barna, assistant deputy executive administrator for the Water Supply and Infrastructure section of the TWDB, will address the drought assistance grant programs available through their agency. Jaime Garcia, with the USDA's Rural Development section will provide technical and financial information on low interest, federal loan programs available for individual well owners affected by the drought.
