Kiwanis presents BUG shirts to 3rd graders
Bandera County Kiwanis Club members met with Alkek and Hill Country third graders to deliver official BUG t-shirts and encourage them to keep "Bringing Up their Grades."
The Kiwanian BUG team of Margaret and Bob Tucker, Esmeralda Walker, Richard Watts, Michelle Frost and Bill Bishop traveled to the elementary schools to encourage BISD third graders to keep up the hard work.
They recognized "Super BUGS," students whose grades were exceptional and who had maintained those grades throughout the year as well as acknowledged students who brought their grades up in reading/English language arts and/or math. Students proudly pulled on their shirts which were sponsored by the Bandera County Kiwanis Club, Bandera Rehab Center, Cow Creek Printing and Hill Country Elementary's PTO.
The Kiwanis team meets with the 3rd graders at the end of each six weeks and honors those students who have brought up their grades from the prior six weeks. At the end of the year, third grade students who have brought up their grades will be eligible for a drawing to award a bike to one boy and one girl on each elementary campus.
