Five Bandera County 4-H Horse Judging teams competed at the San Antonio Horse Judging Contest Thursday, Feb. 13. The senior team of Cheyanne Jenkins, Sarah Butler, Cheyanne VanVleet, and Hannah Buettner placed second in District 10, giving the team an opportunity to advance to State 4-H Roundup in June at College Station. Kate Martin and Nikki Sandidge also competed as senior individuals.
These girls juggle basketball, soccer, power lifting, cross country, track, softball, choir, and horses, but most importantly, they are all honor students.
"They are amazing young women that I have had the privilege to coach since early grade school," said Dina Buettner. "I'm so proud of them. Having three graduating in May, I couldn't be more excited to be able to compete with them in one more big contest."
The junior team of Madison Brown, Stella Brown and Shaley Rogers placed fourth in the Junior Division; and placing fifth was the junior team consisting of Cadence Emmons, Jaycee Jackson, Grace Kelley and Fawn Schott.
Intermediate team members Brittany Schmidt and Miranda Schott also competed in the contest.
"Congratulations to all on a job well done," said Buettner.
