Pre-register now for water session

By Carolyn B. Edwards BCC Staff Writer

Texas A&M and Bandera County AgriLife Extension Service, Bandera County River Authority and Groundwater District (BCRAGD), and the Ranchers and Landowners Association of Texas (RLAT) continue to finalize plans for the first meeting in a series of sessions on water issues. Those planning to attend should pre-register by Friday, March 7.
The first meeting of the Bandera County Water Awareness Series will be held Friday, March 21, and Saturday, March 22, at Mansfield Park Recreation Hall, 2886 Highway 16 North in Bandera. The two-day event takes place from 5 - 9 pm Friday and from 8 am - 4 pm Saturday. Doors will open at 4 pm on March 21 for those who wish to arrive early to visit the vendor tables. Light refreshments will be provided.
The free workshop is open to anyone interested in water related issues in the Bandera region. Because seating is limited, participants must pre-register at the Water Awareness Series website at http://agrilife.org/bcwa.
The seminar will include a discussion of surface and groundwater systems, types and sources of water pollution, ways to improve and protect water quality, and conservation strategies.
