Join the Bandera Music Hall of Fame this Sunday

The Bandera Music History Project Hall of Fame (BMHoF) will host its second annual Musical Reception at its parent facility, the Bandera County Public Library, from 2 pm to 4 pm, Sunday, Feb. 9.
Music lovers will have an opportunity to get up close and personal with the music of Bandera as many of their favorite musicians will perform individually and in jams - all acoustic and all in tribute to the music that has made Bandera famous.
Everyone's invited to come inside, sit a spell, listen to the music, graze your way around the snack tables, sip a drink and enjoy the afternoon with us.
There is no cover at the door and the refreshments are free, but donations are always welcome. This will offer an opportunity to sign up lots of new members and renew previous memberships for 2014. This year, $10 will buy a two-year membership through the 2015 voting season, and we'll show everyone where and how the money is used. Funds are earmarked for college scholarships offered to high school students throughout Bandera County; the awards conferred on honored musicians; and the corner maintained in the library that honors the musicians and venues inducted into the Bandera Music Hall of Fame.
Even better, the reception gives everyone a chance to enjoy the live music, have a chance to thank musicians for enriching all our lives and talk to committee members about any that would improve the organization. There are always a few musical surprises to keep everyone entertained.
BMHoF promotes and preserves the history of our music and recognizes and awards the musicians and venues of Bandera. Library exhibits include memorabilia and photographs, as well as the computerized jukebox that holds so much of the music of the area's celebrated musicians.
"We hope we'll see you on Feb. 9, from 2 pm to 4 pm at our home in the Bandera County Library for an afternoon of music, friendship and fun," said a BMHoF spokesman. "It's all about the music, so plan to join us!"
