BISD board hears reports, more

Junker presented the check during the Regular Meeting of the BISD Trustees on Monday, Dec. 9. The Bandera Athletic Capital Improvements Team, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, made up of non-salaried volunteer community members began organizational meetings in 1988 for the purpose of providing needed athletic capital improvements in the Bandera Independent School District for the use of both male and female student athletes and the community.

BISD Board President, Dr. Barbara Skipper called the regular meeting of the school board to order at 6:30 Monday, Dec. 9. Members present included Laurie Neff, Laurie Palacios, Don Miller, Brittany Hicks, Heidi Battle and Bo Mansfield.
Students from Hill Country Elementary School led the pledges to the United States flag and the Texas flag. Students of the month, Aislinn Pair and Brandon Fowler from HCE were the honored students of the month.
Regina Howell presented the Superintendent's Report which included an update on Average Daily Attendance, the Fall PEIMS submission and the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle Award.
Head Band Director Tim Howell gave an update on band uniform selection,
Dr. Barbara Skipper gave a report on Board Members Continuing Education hours, and Tracy Thayer gave a report on the Texas Academic Performance Report.
Under the regular agenda, the board voted to accept the donation of $7,500 from the Bandera Athletic Capital Improvement Team (BACIT) to fund additional lockers for the girls locker room at BHS.
The Board voted to approve Policy Update 98 affecting a number of local policies
The meeting adjourned at approximately 7:20 pm.
