Bandera County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Lynn D. Holt was recently inducted into the 2012 College of Justice Court Judges.
Holt was awarded "Scholar Member" status for obtaining more than 60 hours of judicial education above the state-mandated requirements. The college encourages and recognizes judges who strive for advanced education.
Holt is one of 77 Justice Court Judges throughout the state to complete the requirements to qualify for the college and one of only 12 judges across the State of Texas to achieve "Scholar Member" status.
This is the seventh consecutive year Holt has been recognized by the college for his achievements in advanced judicial education.
He has served as Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace for over nine civil cases. Other duties include death inquests and magistration duties at the jail.
"I am honored by this award. The advance education I have received certainly helps me to maintain an independent judiciary, and to deliver fair and impartial justice of the people who appear in court."
