4-H judging team National Reserve Champions

Members of the Bandera County 4-H Senior Livestock Judging Team represented Texas and competed at the American Royal in Kansas City, Missouri, on Thursday, Oct. 31. The team was crowned the Reserve Champion 4-H Team at this national competition. Illinois won the contest by a narrow margin of three points. Texas won the sheep division, placed third in hogs, second in cattle and second in reasons. Cody Mayfield was the high individual in cattle, second in hogs and fourth in sheep. He was the second high point individual overall in the contest and the recipient of a $300 scholarship. Corey Flach was sixth and Courtney Flach was eighth respectively. The team is especially grateful to the many local people who supported them with their generous donations, making the trip to Missouri possible.
