Pipe Creek resident receives Emmy

On Saturday, Nov. 9, KLRN Public Television was awarded a first-ever Lone Star Chapter Regional Emmy Award.

Randy Allee, KLRN production supervisor-audio production services specialist, accepted the award for Outstanding Achievement in Audio for the Brahms Symphony program. The program was recorded in 2012 and aired through January 2013 on KLRN.
"Our studio is not a performance hall, so the sound recording must be delicately and expertly edited to assure the highest quality for broadcast. Randy proved his talent for not only being nominated, but also actually bringing home the Emmy, the first in our 51-year history. I'm honored to work with such a talented person," said KLRN President and CEO Mario A. Vazquez.

A resident of Pipe Creek and well-known face for the station, Allee has been a KLRN employee for 24 years. Anyone who has attended a KLRN event or screening, production or recording event at KLRN has almost certainly met Allee. His expertise is always utilized during the station's many initiatives.

The Public Television station for South Central Texas, KLRN broadcasts to a 30-county radius. For more information, visit www.klrn.org.
