Bandera 4-H hosting horse ranch sorting event

By Samantha Shaps 4-H Horse Project Reporter

The 4-H Bandera Horse Project is working with Ridin' the River Cowboy Fellowship to put on a charity ranch sorting event. This event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Mansfield Park Arena.
Starting at 2 pm there will be a practice session including an introduction to the sport for those who have never sorted. At 5 pm there will be a jackpot for youth riders followed by an open jackpot.
The entrance fee for the practice is $10 a person. The jackpot entrance fee is a donation of food which will be collected for our local food banks.
"Ranch sorting is a fun family oriented equine sport! We encourage anyone who rides horses and wants to learn a new sport or discipline to come out and give it a try!" said an event spokesman.
