Wheeler announces for re-election

Bandera County Clerk Candy Wheeler is seeking re-election for the position of Bandera County Clerk.
My heart is for serving the citizens of Bandera County and I have enjoyed the challenges and responsibilities of being your county clerk.
The county clerk's office is responsible for recording some of life's most important milestones - births, deaths and marriage records, military discharge records, deed records, assumed business name records and brand registration. A large part of our responsibility is supporting the county court in juvenile and adult misdemeanors and handling probate court cases. We also handle county bond records, wine and beer licenses, subdivision plat maps, commissioners' court minutes, and civil court cases.
Together with my exceptional staff, we have had all our deed records digitally scanned from 1852 through present - 1966 to present are scanned and indexed - and we are diligently working to index them for public access. We have developed an excellent county records management facility and we are dedicated to preserving Bandera County's history.
I attend the First Baptist Church in Medina, and am also a member of Bandera County Republican Women, Texas Federation of Republican Women and served on the board of directors of the County and District Clerks Association of Texas.
"I have been a resident of Bandera County for 40 years. My husband, Terry, and I have one daughter who lives with her husband and daughter in Durango, Colorado.
I look forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Bandera County with courtesy, integrity and respect, never forgetting that you put your faith in me.
