BMS celebrating 100th birthday

Bandera Middle School will host a 100th birthday celebration on Friday, Oct. 25 at 2 pm to celebrate the construction of the Old Main building on the Bandera Middle School campus. Construction on Old Main began in the fall of 1913 and was completed in the fall of 1914. Today, the building houses the Middle School Library and technology classrooms. County Judge Richard Evans and educator Barbara Mazurek will speak at the celebration. Students and patrons will enjoy an old fashioned ice cream social, with both the High School and Middle School bands providing musical entertainment. The community is invited to attend this birthday celebration. Patrons with stories to share about their experiences as students attending school in Old Main, are encouraged to contact BMS Librarian Suzy Groff at 796-6271.
