9/11 Day group encourages projects

David Paine, co-founder 9/11 Day Observance, once again urges volunteers to mark the anniversary of 9/11 with service projects that benefit the community.
Some of the projects already being planned include helping paint and revitalize EMS and first responder training facilities, paying tribute to the important role first responders played on 9/11 and continue to play every day, revitalizing a community center, and assembling personal care kits for Yarnell, Arizona, which was nearly destroyed in the wildfires that killed 19 brave firefighters.
Visit 911day.org and take a moment to make your pledge to perform your own good deed on 9/11. You can also access lesson plans and toolkits.
"Let's make this 9/11 the largest day of charitable service ever!" said Paine.
