Independence Day Pet Parade


Before the hotdogs, flag waving and fireworks this July 4 comes the 17th annual Independence Day Pet Parade, sponsored by the Cowboy Capital Pet Assistance League. The fun begins with registration at 9 am, Thursday, July 4, at Bandera City Park. Judging starts at 10 am, with the parade kicking off at 10:30. Categories include Star Spangled Honors, Best of the Wild West, Look-a-Like, Most Talented, Most Original and Favorite Storybook Character, as well as Best of Show and Most Creative. Contestant entry fee is $2. During a past pet parade, "munchkins," Greenley Stirman and Audrey Massey, posed prettily with "Zorro," who was all decked out in his native costume.
