Elementary principal named

BISD

Laura Klein of Floresville ISD was named the new principal of Hill Country Elementary on Monday, June 3 she replaced retiring principal Angela Pofahl.

Klein has been an elementary principal with Floresville ISD and is a 15 year veteran educator.

Focusing on teamwork, Klein stated, "It is the collective work that we do as a team that moves us forward as we try to live out the vision of our school."

She began her career in Mathis ISD as an instructional facilitator and campus testing coordinator. She was also in charge of Floresville's College Going Culture and Strengths initiative.

"Communication is key in being a successful administrator and encompasses both speaking and listening. In the role of principal, one must be willing to listen with an open mind while being able to discern what is best for students," said Klein.

Klein is a graduate of Baylor University and Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She brings her three elementary children with her to Bandera ISD. Klein's husband, Robert, coaches and teaches middle school science at LaVernia ISD.
